Suez Canal Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Safaga (Egypt)

    Embark Star Clipper in Safaga

  • Day 2 - At Sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea

  • Day 3 - Suez Canal Transit

    Transit the Suez Canal

  • Day 4 - Port Said

From Port Said at the entrance to the Suez Canal, an optional tour takes you to Egypt's capital of Cairo and the ancient monuments of Giza and the Pyramids. More than 18 million people are jammed into the teeming city split by the River Nile. At the desert's edge in Giza, the Great Pyramids of Cheops and the staring face of the Sphinx offer up a whole new perspective on eternity.

  • Day 5 - Alexandria

The second largest city in Egypt, Alexandria, known as “The Pearl of the Mediterranean”, has an atmosphere that is more Mediterranean than Middle Eastern. Its ambience and cultural heritage distance it from the rest of the country although it is actually only 225 km. from Cairo. Founded by Alexander the Great in 331 BC, Alexandria became the capital of Graeco-Roman Egypt.

  • Day 6 - At sea

Enjoy the ship's facilities on a relaxing day at sea

  • Day 7 - Rhodes (Greece)

The beautiful island of Rhodes (Island of Roses) has a rich and varied history. The beach at Lindos is among the best on the island, whose capital, Rhodes Town is a bustling mecca for both sightseers and shoppers alike.

  • Day 8 - Santorini

The island of Santorini is perhaps the most breathtaking of all the Greek Islands. Around 1500 BC, a volcanic eruption destroyed the centre of the island, leaving a crescent shaped rim of cliffs around a harbour formed in the volcano's caldera.

  • Day 9 - Milos

Known as “The Island of Colours” thanks to it’s jewel coloured waters and vividly painted buildings, the island of milos nestles serenely in the Aegean Sea. It was here that the famous Venus de Milo statue was discovered. With 80 amazing beaches Milos boasts more of them than other island in the Cyclades. Be sure to wander around the castle district at dusk.

  • Day 10 - Monemvasia

This perfectly preserved ancient walled town is connected to the Peloponnese mainland by a causeway. The maze of medieval streets and twisting alleys lead up to the 12th-century Byzantine church of Aghia Sophia, and to the fortress which defended the enclave from assaults by Normans, Catalans and pirates.

  • Day 11 - Hydra

This interesting island has no roads or vehicles, a wild and sparsely populated interior and magnificent mansions, some open to visitors, and built by shipowners in the 18th century. Walk along steep donkey trails, visit one of the many monasteries, and soak in the atmosphere which attracts artists to make their homes here.

  • Day 12 - Piraeus

Disembark Star Clipper in Piraeus, the port for Athens

The Captain reserves the right to alter the itinerary to suit wind and weather conditions.
