Northern Europe and Baltic Sailing Cruises
New for 2012, our selection of Northern Europe sailing cruises on the tall ship Star Flyer combine the best of the capitals and old cities of the Baltic and Scandinavia with undiscovered treasures of scenic islands and pretty coastal villages not visited by large cruise ships.
Star Flyer starts and ends her Northern Europe sailing cruise season with the first Star Clippers UK cruises. Sail from Southampton to Hamburg via Amsterdam in May, returning in August via Bruges and Antwerp.
In the summer Star Flyer cruises from the capital cities of Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and the German ports of Hamburg and Warnemunde along the coasts of Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland and Norway.
These cruises visit fascinating islands such as Syllt and Rugen in Germany, Bornholm in Denmark, Marstrand in Sweden and the Hanko archipelago in Finland. They call at towns as diverse as Gdansk in Poland, Gothenburg in Sweden, Ventspils in Latvia, and Klaipeda in Lithuania. Star Flyer also visits Kiel during the famous Kiel Sailing Parade.
From Stockholm Star Flyer offers three round-trip Baltic cruises. See the Baltic’s most picturesque walled towns, Visby in Sweden and Tallinn in Estonia, before 2 days in St Petersburg, Russia, with time to see the Winter Palace and famous Hermitage Museum, and the major sights of Peterhof Palace and St Catherine's Palace. After a call at Finnish capital Helsinki, Star Flyer visits the Hanko archipelago and Mariehamne in the Aland islands.
